Advocacy is at the heart of The Alliance’s mission. As a member of The Alliance, you are a part of an ever-expanding coalition of forward-thinking human service providers who work alongside us to affect change for the better and prevent change for the worse.
Advocacy activities can take many forms. Whether we are communicating with Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities Services (DBHIDS) and Community Behavioral Health (CBH) about the continued needs of Philadelphia human service organizations, or meeting in Harrisburg with members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly to advocate for legislation that improves the lives of the people we serve…..the goal is always the same…to create a service system environment conducive to successful outcomes for the people we serve in Philadelphia and beyond.
TOGETHER, as members of the Greater Philadelphia community and in cooperation with other regional and statewide trade associations, we work tirelessly to expand access to services and increase the financial investment in programs that serve those impacted by behavioral health challenges, drug and alcohol addiction, and intellectual disability/autism.
Current advocacy activities include such issues as:
- Addressing that Workforce Crisis
- Continued and expanded access to Medicaid services
- Value-Based Payment Arrangements
- Prudent Pay
